This workshop is Part 1 of the Create an Abundant Landscape Workshop with Backyard Abundance (Part 2 will be on October 8th at the same time)! Learn to integrate fruit and nut trees, berry bushes, herbs, and other edible perennials into your landscape, and how to design and establish a beautiful, edible landscape that benefits you and our local environment.
Through two days of fun-filled, hands-on classes, participants of any gardening level will learn how to design and establish beautiful gardens of organically-grown fruits, vegetables, and herbs. Lunch, snacks, and handouts are provided.

-Sustainable landscape design (permaculture)
-Top Midwest edible, native, and medicinal plants
-Growing food in sun and shade
-Companion planting for self-maintenance
-Outdoor room design
-Discouraging deer and rabbits
-Wildlife habitat creation
-Water management for self-watering landscapes
-Establishment strategies to save money and time
